Mobility devices should be cool functional accessories we're proud to show off!
Do you agree?

Today I came across this photo I took last year of Zippy Larson, a resident at Charter Senior Living in Towson. Zippy proudly showed off her custom-made cane which is a work of art and the ultimate conversation starter (and trust me, Zippy is a master at great conversations!).
Another favorite of mine is Urban Poling Inc. Nordic walking poles they have that sleek European cool factor, plus they deliver real stability, better posture, and confidence on every step.
On the weekends, I help run and instruct at Blue Ridge Adaptive Snow Sports at Liberty Mountain Resort, where we use a variety of adaptive products, tools, and techniques to help people of all abilities enjoy snow sports. But hands down, my favorite is the SNO-GO Ski Bike. This innovative ski bike not only makes snow sports more accessible but it's genuinely the coolest thing on the slopes! Just like Zippy's cane, it's a massive conversation starter. Everyone on the mountain wants to know about it, try it, or snap a photo it's fun, intuitive (like riding a bike on snow), and brings pure joy and freedom to the experience to people who otherwise might not be able to enjoy snow sports.
If we need assistance for mobility we need to remove the stigma of using devices getting creative to make these accessories fun, fashionable, and empowering.
